A reminder about the second Full Blue Moon this month on Friday 8/31  at 9:58a ET.  Since this is already daylight here in the US  it will be best viewed the night before.  Here are a few sites with interesting information What’s a Blue Moon? This Blue Moon is in mystical Pisces (at 8*) and with all the magical lore around a Blue Moon it should be more mystical than usual! This is a wonderful time to do ritual, plan a gratitude ceremony for all the wonderful things in your life, or just go out and howl a big hello at the Moon.

Speaking of mystical, the photo here by my friend Patricia Kramer is a mystery too.  She was taking a pic of a lovely Full Moon, and has no idea how the second Blue Moon appeared in the photo.  She’s a pretty magical person herself, orbs and other such things often appear in her photos from who knows what dimension. We can’t exactly remember when she took this photo, but I’ve saved it ever since to use for a Blue Moon such as this.  It’s so perfect!

The Moon is getting more attention than usual these days anyway due to Neil Armstrong’s death on 8/25.  If you’re old enough I’m sure you remember watching him land on the Moon.  Personally I was beyond thrilled! Finally we humans  set foot on another planet and as a Star Trek fan I believed this was the beginning of exploring the Universe just like the Enterprise!  Here’s the New York Times cover story back then Men Walk on Moon .  Neil Armstrong exemplified the very best of his generation – the fearlessness of Uranus in Aries, and the humility and service of Neptune in Virgo.  (Note – Uranus is once again in Aries so a whole new generation of fearless pioneers is being born!) It’s also wonderful to see how much renewed enthusiasm the Mars Curiosity’s  journey is generating for space travel.  So exciting to see a whole new generation of space exploration fans blossoming.  And very cool to see that space engineers and scientists are now trendy versus the “square” ones back in those early days Take a look here

I think most of us astrologers began our interest in the heavens from  studying the constellations, the solar system and dreaming of space travel.  One of my best memories is  lying on a blanket in the back yard as a young kid with my Dad pointing out constellations in the Summer night sky.  It’s a great gift to be able to combine knowledge of the ancient science of astrology with the more modern science of astronomy which used to be one and the same.  My hope is that in not too distant future our sciences will blend again,  just as these times we live in are becoming more holistic in every way. And with the look of those young NASA Curiosity folks,  it might not be that far off in the future. As Above – So Below!
